Mama, I see you.
Some days… wow. Some days feel like a marathon with no finish line.
You’ve been juggling dishes, snacks, activities, toddler meltdowns, bedtime routines, maybe even work deadlines — all while trying to keep your own sanity intact. By the time your head hits the pillow, you’re exhausted. Drained. Overwhelmed. Wondering how you’ll do it all again tomorrow.
I’ve been there. More days than I can count. And I want you to know something: you are not alone. God sees you. He knows every little detail of your day — even the messy, chaotic, “I can’t even” moments.
And the most wonderful truth? He has promises for you. Words in His Word that will lift you up, remind you you’re not doing it alone, and give your tired heart a little rest.
Here are 10 Bible verses that have helped me when I feel overwhelmed. I hope they encourage you too.
1. Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
We are tired. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. Jesus doesn’t just promise a good night’s sleep — He promises rest for our souls. And friend, we need that.
2. Isaiah 40:31
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary.”
There are days I feel like I can’t take one more step. But this verse reminds me: my strength comes from God, not just coffee (though, let’s be honest, coffee helps too).
3. Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
When the laundry is piled high, the kids are arguing, and dinner is burning… this one is my go-to. God equips us for the chaos of motherhood, even when we feel like we’re running on empty.
4. Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Sometimes I literally have to tell myself to stop for a second, take a deep breath, and remember: He is in control, even when my day feels like a tornado.
5. 1 Peter 5:7
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
All the worries, the “did I do enough,” the “what if I mess this up” thoughts… God wants us to hand them over. You don’t have to carry it all, mama.
6. Psalm 55:22
“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.”
I love this one because it’s like a gentle hug from God: He’s got you, even when you feel like you might break.
7. Proverbs 31:25
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
Let’s be real… some days I barely feel strong. But God sees my heart, my effort, and my love for my kids. He calls us strong even when we feel tired and messy.
8. Psalm 127:3
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.”
On the days the mess is never-ending, or my patience is gone, this verse reminds me: my kids are a gift, even in the overwhelm. And yes — even the tantrums.
9. Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Mama, even when you feel like you’re barely holding it together… God is holding you up.
10. Lamentations 3:22-23
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Every day is a fresh start. Even if yesterday was messy, stressful, or exhausting, His mercy is brand new today.
A Little Note for You
Motherhood is hard. Some days feel impossible. But God’s Word is full of reminders that you are never doing this alone.
Even whispering a single verse while folding laundry, during bedtime, or in the quiet of nap time can give you a little pause, a little peace, and a reminder that He is faithful and He is with you.
You’re doing a good job, mama. Truly. And God sees every single effort, hug, and tear. You are enough.
