Easter is such a beautiful time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus—but if you’re anything like me, it can also feel easy to get caught up in the candy and baskets and forget the deeper meaning we really want our kids to hold onto.
So if you’re looking to create an Easter basket that’s both fun and faith-filled, here are some simple, meaningful ideas your kids will love—and that gently point their hearts back to Jesus.
1. Children’s Bible or Devotional
This is one of my favorite things to include. Whether it’s a beginner Bible, a storybook version, or a simple devotional, it’s something they can keep coming back to long after Easter has passed. I used to read a children’s Bible myself, and recently I upgraded to a new one for my girls—and they absolutely love it.
You could even write a little note inside the cover to make it feel extra special and meaningful.

2. Resurrection Eggs
One fun way to make Easter baskets both meaningful and exciting is by including Resurrection Eggs. These little eggs each hold a small object that tells part of the Easter story, turning learning about Jesus into a hands-on, interactive experience your kids will love. My daughters get so excited opening one egg each day — the anticipation is half the fun, and it’s such a sweet way to help them understand the true meaning of Easter.

3. Christian-Themed Books
Think sweet, faith-based stories that talk about Jesus’ love, forgiveness, and new life. These are perfect for bedtime and help keep the message of Easter going beyond just one day.

4. Scripture Memory Cards
Simple, beautiful Bible verse cards are perfect for little hands (and hearts). You can:
- Read one together each morning
- Tape them to a mirror
- Keep them by their bed
It’s such an easy way to plant truth in their hearts.

5. Worship Music or Audio Bible for Kids
Kids love music and movement, and this idea doesn’t have to cost a thing! Just put on some tunes and have a little dance party. Worship songs or a kid-friendly audio Bible can even become a fun part of your daily routine at home or in the car.
6. Faith-Based Crafts or Coloring Books
Think coloring books that tell the Easter story, sticker books, or simple crafts about Jesus. These keep little hands busy while reinforcing what Easter is really about.

7. A Cross Necklace or Bracelet
A simple bracelet or necklace can be a sweet, meaningful keepsake for little ones. Even better, you can make it together! My daughters loves it when we craft jewelry—it’s such a fun way to spend time together while creating something they can treasure and wear.
8. A “He Is Risen” T-Shirt or Pajamas
This is such a fun and practical idea. Something they can wear on Easter morning (and beyond) that celebrates the reason for the day.

9. A Small Treat (Because… Kids )
Let’s be real—Easter without a few sweets? Unthinkable. A couple of chocolates or candies are fine, as long as you balance it with truth, intention, and maybe a little reminder that Jesus’ love is the sweetest treat of all! 10. A Personal Note from You
This might just be the most meaningful thing in the basket. Take a few minutes to write a short note to your child—tell them how much you love them, share what Easter truly means, and include a simple truth about Jesus. They may not fully understand it right now, but these little words of love and faith can leave a lasting mark on their heart. One day, they’ll read it and realize just how much love and thought went into it—and that makes it priceless.
A Gentle Reminder
At the end of the day, it’s not about creating the “perfect” basket.
It’s about pointing our kids—little by little, in simple ways—back to the greatest gift we’ve ever been given.
